The City of Kuantan, with 150,000 residents, is the biggest city in the network with an area of nearly 2000 sq. kms. It stretches over 70 kms from its northern to southern boundaries. The Kuantan Municipal Council was established on 1 September 1979 , more popularly known as MPK (Majlis Perbandaran Kuantan) today.
